The History of Bobcat Acres Country Store

Bobcat Acres Country Store started out as an offshoot of our farm.

As we built the farm we started to notice that we couldn't find the things we wanted anywhere locally, we decided to look on the web. What we found was that we could find what we wanted but not all in the same place. This gave us the initial idea to open our own store.

Well being in a small town outside of Orlando, FL. We would have had to compete for advertizing with some of the major retail stores in the Orlando market (who have gazillion dollar advertising budgets) and being a small operation we couldn’t afford that. So a traditional brick and mortar store was out of the question. So Farmer Bob (yes there really is a Farmer Bob) said “Well why don’t we use that new fangled thingy called the Inter Galactic net, or whatever it’s called?” and we starting thinking why not start a web only store.

After we told our farming neighbors they started asking if we could sell some of there farm products. For instance L&J Farms produces our goats milk soap and beauty products. They are a local goat dairy that was making the soaps with their extra milk. And then there is Nations Apiary (thats a bee farm) is producing the majority of our bees wax products.

Well word spread and we started getting inquiries from local artists to see if would sell their wares, and that is when we started selling Patty’s Precious art. Patty is a locally known artist in these parts and wanted to branch out with her paintings, sculptures, and jewelry.

So you see we just keep growing so make sure you stop by often because you never know what we’ll have new in our store. Though we’ll try to keep a strong supply of our regular items for all you people who need stuff for your own place in the country.
